Radio Broadcast on the Rapture:

Please feel free to copy and paste into your preferred word processor to help you with your studies of this important topic, God Bless

Good evening FL. and all saints tuning in today.  I’m Pastor Bill Vigue of Meat of the Word Ministries.  A ministry dedicated to supplementing believers with information and inspiration from God’s Holy Word.   Our subject today and all this week is the rapture, or as I see and understand it the coming raptures of dedicated believers.

(This week’s message will arouse questions, so listen to the end of the broadcast for information on how you can ask your questions and have them answered in upcoming broadcasts.   If you connect with our web site those questions can be heard and addressed effectively.)

The rapture is also known by the term “caught up” which means to be seized, pulled or plucked up by force.   It is a state or experience of being carried up or away by an overwhelming, supernatural force.  Generally some think of the terms rapture and caught up exclusively as a literal, physical experience where the mortal body will be changed to an immortal one.  Some illustrate the event in the likeness of a magnet where the magnetized force draws only that which is of the same substance or likeness as in metal.  The other things remain.  It can be said of raptured saints, “we will fly to the power that attracts us”.  Set your affection correctly.

But a rapture or the experience of being “caught up” also refers to a spiritual experience in which a believer’s spirit and soul is also exalted to a place where it receives divine revelation from God.  Paul said he was caught up to the third heaven but did not know if it was in or our out of his body.  John had the same experience as he describes in Rev 4:1.  Both heard the voices of God and angels, both received revelation knowledge from God and both returned on the earth for ministry.

  • So first, let me inform or remind you that God controls our knowledge and understanding of Him and His plan.  Therefore we should be sincere and dependent on the Holy Spirit to learn anything about God!  Regarding the rapture the term “caught up” is always connected with walking with God and receiving a greater revelation of God.  Again for instance, both Paul & John as well as Enoch and Jesus Himself were “caught up” to heaven and received a higher view.
  • Second, we must maintain respect and tolerance toward brethren who hold different views…  All believers who are faithfully studying to show themselves approved before God are symbolically climbing up God’s mountain of truth and as we are climbing we are seeing from a different view point or perspective.  All of us are seeing from a lower sight range than what we will see when we get to the top of that mountain.  One day the knowledge of God will cover all the earth as the waters cover the sea.
  • Third; not until the 19th Century did the Holy Spirit give the modern day Church a fresh spark of light on the rapture. (I say “fresh spark” because this truth was always in the scriptures (both the Old & NT)  The Apostle Paul taught about the rapture as a foundational truth and used it to provoke the early church to love and good works.  In fact probably no doctrine in the Word provides a greater incentive for Christian growth, spiritual development and Christ like service.
  • Forth; this fresh “spark of light” confirms that our generation is on the threshold of the fulfillment of the end time tribulation period.

Jer 30:23  (speaking of the coming judgment as the vengeance of the Lord says) Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goes forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.  24 The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider (understand) it.  (Jer 23:20 Understand it perfectly)

Daniel (12:4) was told to shut up the words and seal his prophetic vision even to the time of the end; because it was to be revealed only at the end, while John’s revelation of Jesus was not to be sealed because “the time was at hand”. . (Rev 22:10)

  • Let me make this brief side step: I am a strong believer in the WOF movement and message.  I am not ashamed of that association.  But that movement, as is the case with any movement, is not perfect or without fault.  I know and regret that many in the WOFM do not teach about the coming Judgment of God.  Jesus did, Luke 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Paul used it expressly as did Peter, John etc….
  • Some in the WOFM honestly and sincerely admit they have not studies this issue of end time judgments. (Why?  If they are WOF people why don’t they exercise faith in that part of the scriptures?
  • Some openly say they do not think it is a vital part of God’s Word nor necessary to study it.  (But I say unto them; Jesus said “man shall live by every word of God)
  • Some teach that God has already judged and approved the believer (and that is partially true) but imply that now God is no longer going to judge the world, and especially is not going to punish, judge, or chasten the Church!  But what that group does not consider is that the TribulationPeriod is not only meant to punish the wicked but to purge the dross our of the believer through that “Baptism of fire”.

In Heb 10:30 (speaking a warning to the believers tempted to forsake the NT Covenant says; “For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

Then too Paul wrote in 1Co 11:31  For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 1Co 11:32  But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Back on point.

There are essentially five different views on the rapture: 1) Pre  2) Mid 3) Pre-wrath Post 4) No such thing

  • I am presently persuaded on these three points (but I am not being dogmatic, I submit my views  publically to the Body of believers and students of the Lord’s Word – for consideration)

1)      One) I am persuaded that just as there were different Raptures that took place before the NT promise, there are a series of Raptures that will take place in the last days

2)      Two) I am persuaded that the Rapture and all moments of being “caught up” (be it in body or spirit) are a reward – for faithfulness: Jesus Himself told His apostles (the foundation stones who were chosen to hear, write and hand down His teachings to all of us to read, consider and study) that all believers, including them should watch and pray that we may be accounted worthy to escape the coming judgments…

3)      Three) I am persuaded that a Rapture is not confined to a one time single event and this point may be the truth that helps resolve the indifference, even hostile debates over the various views.

4)      Let me explain: Like the resurrection of the saints, I am persuaded that raptures will come to individual believers in seasons; in pre-destined order, in a series, in waves.   (Paul explained this clearly, using a military word to describe the resurrection and then associated the final rapture of surviving; remaining believers with that resurrection)

1Co 15:21  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.  This word is a description similar something like the D Day or Normandy invasion – the troops landed in a series of orderly waves to liberate 1st France & then Europe

  • It is wise and right to shadow our understanding of the (final) Rapture with the Resurrection because that one is specifically stated to come after the dead in Christ are raised.

1 Thess 4:13-18  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1Co 15:51  Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

(This week’s radio messages will arouse questions, so listen to the end of the broadcast for information on how you can ask your questions and have them answered in upcoming broadcasts.   If you connect with our web site those questions can be heard and addressed effectively.)

  • I presently hold to these three views on the Rapture: (I say PRESENTLY because I know there is more light to come on this truth)

1)      I am persuaded that there is a Pre- Tribulationrapture. of the faithful saints (one argument against this should be boldly corrected, that it would mean am amputation of the Body.

2)      I am persuaded there is a Mid-Tribulationrapture of a select group of believer

3)      I am persuaded there is post Tribulationrapture: a rapture that will take place simultaneously with the last remaining believers who call upon the name of the Lord (which includes the promised remnant of Israel)

  • I am persuaded that although God makes a clear distinction between the Jews and the Gentiles, In the Lord all who believe on Him and call upon His name will be drawn out of those distinctions and will be joined to another group know as the church – the Body of Christ.

Let me address the Post Tribulation evidence of a Rapture

  • If there was only one Rapture (but it is apparent to me that there is more than one a single rapture event) than I would have to agree with those who recognize a Post Tribulationrapture.  This is because the two clearest references highlighting a rapture (or being “caught up” physically and given a new, immortal body)

1 Thess 4:13-18  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (go before) them which are asleep. (Side thought: If we will ever be with the Lord, then we are going to return to the earth to rule & R with Him)

1Co 15:51  Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and (then) we shall be changed.

  • So I am convinced there is a post Tribulation Rapture and thus any and all those who believe and are alive and remain on the earth at that coming are members of the church and will be joined with the rest of the Body of Christ.
  • This Post Tribulation Resurrection and rapture is also the fulfillment of Eph 1:10:  Let me begin at Eph verse 7  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8  Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10  That IN THE DISPENSATION OF THE FULLNESS OF TIMES he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:  11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will:

Now let’s Consider a Mid Tribulation and as some see and explain it as a Pre-Wrath Rapture

  • The Pre-wrath view is explained as a Rapture that takes place 3 ½ years into the final 7 Year period of Gentile rule over Jerusalem; with the explanation that the first half of the period will be a time a time of deception where safety and a false world peace will be prevail over the masses under the control of the antichrist.
  • Then, half way into this period the antichrist will be recognized as evil, will break covenant with Israel and turn against that nation and I believe all the Jews and saints of Christian faith.  Jesus refers to this moment of prophetic history as

Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)  16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17  Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18  Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19  And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20  But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

  • Another interesting reference to consider is 2Th 2:7 “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (midst) 8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
  • There are two prophetically announced raptures that are clearly noted in scripture and will take place at the mid point of the 7 year tribulation period.
  • The 1st one is noted in Rev 11 tells us that the Gentiles will control the “holy city” (Jerusalem) for 42 months (3 ½ years) and at that time God give supernatural power to “two witnesses” and they shall prophesy exactly 1260 days.  They will be protected from those who will want to hurt them “fire that will proceed out of their mouth, and in that manner those people will be killed.
  • They will also have power like Elijah to shut up heaven that it does not rain during the days of their prophecy: and power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will; much like Moses did to free the Israelites from Egypt.
  • When the 1260 days of their testimony is completed, the antichrist shall “war against them, overcome them, and kill them.  Their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, (Jerusalem) which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Their dead bodies shall be seen by all the people on the earth (this is possible today via satellite and internet) and then after three days and an half days the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they will be first raised from the dead, then hear “come up here” and then shall be caught up or ascend to heaven.
  • The 2nd one is noted in Rev 12. as the man child. Rev 12:5  And she (symbolically speaking of Israel) brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6  And the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness.
  • I believe and suggest that symbolic “man-child” is the literal marked our 144,000 Israelites (12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel) noted in chp 7 as on earth (with their appointment resulting in a massive revival on the earth) and then later seen in heaven as “redeemed from the earth” in chapter 14.
  • In these two cases (the Post and mid Tribulation raptures) both promised and identified a degree of “date setting” is possible because these events are associated with reference to 1260 days, 1290 days and 1335 days (Dan 12)
  • However, Jesus stated emphatically that “no man knows the day or the hour”.  This is a reference to His coming (appearing) as suddenly “as a thief in the night”.
  • The references to Jesus coming as a thief (1 Thess 5:2, Matt 24:43; Luke 12:39; Rev 16:15) all relate to the Greek word “erchomai”  translated in our English Bibles as “coming” refers to the aspect of the Lord 2nd coming to “appear”  in the air.  It is an entirely different Greek word than “Parousia” (which means the very presence and is also translated in our English Bibles as “coming”)  (It will be so helpful when a modern translation is published that will distinguish these two words) In any event the Gr word Parousia relates to the final aspect of the Lord’s 2nd coming, His literal return in person and presence.
  • Paul called it the Lord’s “glorious appearing” (Titus 2:13; and in Heb 9:26-28 the promise is stated “And as many as look for Him shall He appear”.
  • So I submit to you this view (for your consideration and hopefully to inspire you to study) that at the very end of the Tribulation Period, when the remnant of Israel will finally call upon Jesus as their Christ, Jesus will literally return in person to set up the Millennial Reign.  But before that, He will come and “appear” a variety of faithful believers and rapture them for obedience, faithful service and for a continuing service.

Let’s Now consider a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of saints and the reasons why

1)      The 1st thing a King does after declaring war is call home His ambassadors.  Jesus epitomizes Kings

2)      God’s NT promises were shadowed by the OT examples.  We have two examples in Enoch and Elijah

3)      Both of these two past examples were rewarded for their faithfulness, watchfulness, their walk with God.  There obedience and communication with God was on a higher, deeper and most pleasing level with God…………………………………………………………………………… (Heb 11:5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.  6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

4)      A Reward: Then as already mentioned we have several other raptures foretold to us in the Revelation of Jesus given to the apostle John.  They include: the two witnesses (Rev 11); the symbolic “man-child” that is caught up to God (Rev 12) which I believe to the literal 144,000 Jewish converts to Christ (Rev 7) who like the two witnesses are marked out for ministry, identification and protection and are later seen in heaven before the throne (Rev 14)    In every example, both past (including Jesus) and future raptures revealed to John, we can see that their experience followed some great accomplishment they did.

5)      Watchfulness:  Jesus repeatedly gives a clear warning to believers not to be caught off guard with a promise of escaping the coming judgment.

Luke 21:34  And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, (can this happen to a believer?  Of course it can)   and so that day come upon you unawares. (Again can this happen to a believer?  Of course, or else Jesus wouldn’t give us that warning) 35  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape (flee out from) all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

  • Jesus relates to a sudden event and thus the timing of 1260 or 1290, or 1335 days do not apply
  • Our great scholars give virtually no commentary on this text.  They can’t explain it because it would seem to contradict salvation by grace.  But in fact it is referring to a reward.

Rev 3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.  2  Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3  Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.  4  Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy(This is spoken to believers in the true faith of Jesus who are warned and then given a promise of reward.  This is not the salvation experience)

Rev 3:14  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Rev 22:18  John said; “For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If (this is an individual consequence, not a group ) any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  (Two thoughts on this text: 1) Only believers have ears to hear the revelations of God,  2) If (this is conditional and it implies a believer can do this) anyone adds (imposes their own opinion) God shall add the plagues, (this implies some believers will suffer the end time judgments while those more careful, diligent, watchful, prayerful etc… can avoid / will escape

Some overreach the suggestion that we are promised deliverance from the wrath to come, (Rom 5:9; 1 Thess 5) But that promise is not stated as a haphazard guarantee.  If you’ll read those references carefully instead of letting someone single it out and quote it to you out of context, you’ll see that it is a warning to us not to sleep rather than a subjective guarantee.

6)      Jesus associated the events of His 2nd coming with the Days of Noah and Lot.  In Noah’s Day Enoch walked with God and was raptures, Noah was left behind to sustain the human race.  In Lot’s case, the angels of judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah told Lot to get out quickly (Lot had to do something to escape and His wife did not do it) and that they could not release the judgment until he got out….

7)      The sense of “immanency” (be on watch because it he will appear suddenly like a thief and like the Bridegroom of Jewish heritage)  The promised rewards for faithfulness and watching is associated with where once the Tribulations tarts the remaining ones are told a specific set of day 1260 when it will essentially will come to and end.

Why Some Believers are left Behind:

The Scriptures illustrate this in many ways and I believe those scriptures.  They are part of God’s Word and if we are to walk in the spirit and in Love we will believe all things the Word teaches.

  • So to address the issue of why some believers are left behind, first let me help you see and understand that some are always left behind:
  • First; some quote Rev 4:1 and claim that this is the last time the church is mentioned on earth.  That is not true.  1st, we must note this was spoken exclusively to John and there is no evidence, and it is only conjecture that the church is related.
  • Second; there are several references following this one that clearly show believers who have the testimony of Jesus during the Tribulation and if they have Jesus they are a part of the Body of Christ – the church.
  • Third; Some insist when they should only suggest that the church is different than for instance the tribulation saints (Rev 7) and Israelites (Jews) who will come to Christ Jesus during the Tribulationwhich is referred to them in Jer as “Jacob’s Trouble”.
  • Four: Some insist when it is actually a question of speculation that if not God did not rapture every believe all at the same time He would be amputating His Body.  That can not be the case!  If it were then He already did it when He raptured Jesus (the head of the Body) to heaven and left us behind.
  • So, I am not at all convinced that every single member of the church or Body of Christ will be taken in a pre-Tribulation raptured as many teach today.  In fact I am convinced otherwise.  I am convinced by all the evidence that not every believe receives the same reward.

Let’s consider for instance Rev 7 where Tribulation saints are noted:  Verse 14 say:  “And I said unto him, (John) and he replied “Sir, you know.”  And the angel said to him; “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, (they had robes that needed to be washed) and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15  Therefore (a good consequence and reward, but a reward that is not the escape from the Tribulation plagues) are they before the throne of God, and (now note this they are what? Now) serving him day and night in his temple: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. 16  They shall hunger no more, (hunger was one of the Tribulation plagues) neither thirst any more; (thirst is another Tribulation plague) neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. (these too are suffered plagues of the Tribulation judgments) verse 17  continues to tell us of another important consequence for getting washed:  “For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, (not just their body but shall feed their spirits and soul’s) and the Lamb (Jesus) shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. (their tribulation sufferings was painful but it worked a great work, it brought them to perfection and heaven.

Consider some more evidence that some of “God’s people” and that means believing members of the Body of Christ and thus part of the church are on earth during the Tribulation.

  1. Rev 18:4 (At the time of the antichrists judgments and city residence Babylon – “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
  2. Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22  Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment (the final sentence of a court of Law) was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom….  25 And he (antichrist) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (3 ½ years)  26  But the judgment (decision) shall sit, (dwell and remain in ultimate favor to the saints) and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.  (This does mean as some teach that the present day church will eventually revive in power and overcome the antichrist, for it clearly tells us the antichrist will overcome them.  This refers to the consequence of Jesus’ return at the last trump; with dead in Christ raised, and the remaining believers raptured and changed.
  3. Rev 13:6  And he (the antichrist) opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him (by Satan) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:  Those saints, yes include the remnant of Israel, but that remnant, as all gentiles who call on Christ “have the testimony of Jesus” (Rev 12:17) and thus are no longer differentiated as Jew or Gentile, or male or female but in fact all part of the one body – the church.
  4. Yes there is a group noted as “Tribulation saints, or saints that came out of the great Tribulation” but to claim or insist that they are not part of the church is IMO misleading.  The Body of Christ is the church.  Jew and Gentile….
  • Now what scriptures illustrate that some are left behind?
  1. First: Jesus illustrated the Tribulation Period as like the Days of Noah and the days of Lot.

a)      Enoch was raptured during the days of Noah and preceding that world judgment.  Righteous Noah and his family, who were covered by his righteousness, were left behind.  They went through that tribulation and God had a purpose for their remaining – to preserve the human race.

b)      Then when Elijah was raptured (as recorded in 2 Kings chapter 2) their were spiritually minded believers who knew his rapture was pending just like today is coming into the awareness of a coming rapture.  50 student prophets from Elijah’s school of the Prophets at Rhema knew and followed him from a distance watching.  The rest of the people were numb to the coming event.    But when He was caught up, or taken by God, they didn’t go!  Then too his closest disciple Elisha, he didn’t get raptured, he was left behind.  Elisha knew that Elijah would be taken by God and wanted his mantle or anointing.  Elijah made no promise to Elisha that he was worthy to be taken up but he did promise he could have a double portion of his anointing on earth if he watched close enough.  Elijah knew the rewards for watching!

  1. Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of thy people: (Israel) and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. (This is the remnant Paul expounded upon in Rom 11)  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, (This is part of the first resurrection, Jews who died in faith) and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (This is the 2nd Resurrection – Great White Throne Judgment) 3  And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4  But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased…. 8  And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9  And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. (Daniel’s vision is opening to us in these last days like never before, proving that you and I are on the verge of the Lord’s great Day) 10  Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; (these are God’s people who will need cleaning) but the wicked (this is the ungodly) shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.  11  And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be 1290.  12  *** Blessed is he that waits, and cometh to the 1335 days.  (These are certainly believers on earth enduring) 13  But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shall rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
  1. The main reason for the coming Tribulation Judgments is not merely to punish the wicked, but to chasten and clean the Lord’s Bride.  Why? (Eph 5:26)  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (the Word includes the righteous judgments to purge the dross through the fire) Why or what else?  27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, (dirt) or wrinkle, (age, past) or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
  1. Heb 12 explains the chastening of the Lord as a well meaning work.

Rev 12:7  And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,  8  And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.  9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Rev 14:9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11  And the smoke of their torment ascended up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name. 12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

  • There will be saints on earth, born again believers in Christ Jesus who will have to prove themselves during that tribulation season, also called as the cup of His (God’s) indignation and will have to refuse to worship or take the mark of the beast.
  • Those that patiently endure, even unto the end (some will according to what Jesus promised – Matt 14:13) will have their reward.

Let me close this series of teachings regarding the raptures with a reminder of carefully stated qualifications:  Let us not sleep but be faithful and wise; Watch, and pray, be ready, be Spiritually minded, Walk in the Spirit which is to walk with God, Set your affections on things above, where Christ is seated, Separate yourself from additions of the prophecies, Depart from iniquity,  Come out of the places where the plagues are meant for, be not lukewarm, but stay hot for God, keep your first love and maintain your garment of righteousness, by continual washing it in the water of the Word and the sanctify glory of the Holy Spirit and be found doing what God has left you on earth to do, “feed His sheep, feed His Lambs by giving them their meat in due season.
